About the Committed to Growing Small Business Tour: Silver Lining Ltd, along with an amazing group of partners, have come together to form the Committed Coalition. Big companies – Staples, Rogers, Intuit, HP, Citi Cards, WestJet, and UPS are reaching out to smaller businesses across Canada.  During April and May these companies, along with Silver Lining are proud to Sponsor the Committed to Growing Small Business Tour.  The tour will be criss-crossing the country, giving free seminars for small business owners and entrepreneurs in an effort to pool resources and share the vast amount of knowledge collected by the most influential companies in Canada. These 10 seminars will be held in Staples stores and all of the Committed partners will be represented at each location — Look for special offers for small businesses on laptops, business software, travel deals, wireless discounts, shipping, and much more.  Sliver Lining’s Founder and President Carissa Reiniger (see bio below) will be on hand to speak about her experiences growing a small business, as well as discussing her brand new book, “I Will.”  The “I Will” book is about the journey of an entrepreneur, and discusses in very real terms the type of mindset it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

Carissa will share with you how determination and execution have made her entrepreneurship story so successful, and how you can translate that inspiration into your own thriving business. In a fun and informal atmosphere you will start translating all your big ideas into a tangible plan and leave with your list of “I Wills” that will help you successfully become an entrepreneur who does what they say they will – including reaching their growth goals.

About Carissa Reiniger

Carissa Reiniger is dedicated to entrepreneurship. Having built Silver Lining Ltd from concept to an international company with revenue in the millions in just over one year, Carissa has lived through the growing pains and pleasures of fast growth entrepreneurship.

With the lessons of Silver Lining behind her, Carissa has gone on to create several other companies ranging from commercial theatre to online social networks. She shows her dedication to entrepreneurship and the community through her active involvement on numerous boards and committees focused on small business and development. Currently, Carissa is the President of Women Entrepreneurs of Canada, Co-Chair of Nickibasika Children’s Development, and Vice Chair, Strategy for The Canadian Stage Company’s Visionary Council. She is also a member of an advisory board for a portfolio of start-ups.

Outside of her own endeavors, Carissa has worked with, consulted for, and talked to thousands of entrepreneurs, frequently providing training on how to use the Silver Lining Action Plan model to build a one-year growth plan for their business.

She writes and speaks often on entrepreneurship and has recently published her second book, Inspiring Entrepreneurs: How to Build Your Business To Its First Million.

She is thrilled to be creating initiatives with “Committed to Growing Small Business” that will bridge the gap between small and big businesses. By creating access points and partnerships into the small business market for large corporations and by opening up resources and connections that would otherwise be unavailable to many entrepreneurs, she aims to increase the success rate of small businesses.
